Sabrina Carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter, co-star of the Boy Meets World spinoff Girl Meets World, is Hollywood Records’ biggest (active) singer of today. She, Zendaya, and Rowan Blanchard are the icons of Disney Channel today. This young girl released her debut album Eyes Wide Open last year. If you like country-pop or folk-pop, I’d recommend checking out Sabrina’s album. Recently, she released the synthpop-heavy “On Purpose”, which some of you all might recognize as the legitimately good song that got skipped on Disney night on plug.dj but I’m not mad lol. Sabrina’s sophomore album EVOLution is due for release on October 14th.

Recommended tracks: Eyes Wide Open, Darling I’m a Mess (written by popheads fave Meghan Trainor), Smoke and Fire

R5

This pop-rock band, the better version of 5SOS, consists of four siblings and a family friend. You might be familiar with Ross Lynch from Austin & Ally and the Teen Beach films as well as Riker Lynch from Glee. This group has released two albums: Louder in 2013 and Sometime Last Night in 2015. I quite enjoyed Sometime Last Night, and I think that it’s worth checking out.

Recommended tracks: Dark Side, Let’s Not Be Alone Tonight (this one’s real good y’all)

Here are the Austin & Ally soundtrack featuring Ross Lynch and Laura Marano:

First / Second: Turn It Up / Third: Take It From the Top

Keke Palmer

Whether Keke is really a Nickelodeon star or a Disney star is debatable. The Jump In! star has only released one studio album so far, titled So Uncool (2007). Since then, she’s dropped several mixtapes; most recently, Waited to Exhale (2016). Her latest effort had some good tracks here and there. If you like R&B and Zayday Williams, check out Keke’s music.

Recommended tracks: You Got Me (feat. Kevin McCall), Enemiez (feat. Jeremih)
