Honestly, once you realize how hateful even the moderate ones are, there’s no going back. In your experience, how far are moderate feminists willing to go? I was going to create a post about that, but laziness got the best of me. In my experience, while moderate feminists might shun awful people like Elizabeth Sheehy or Koss (even though there are still plenty of articles about Koss and plenty of feminists still use her numbers), that doesn’t mean they won’t spew hateful things too. It’s just that they fail to see how harmful what they’re saying can be. Moderate feminists still believe in collective guilt, even though they don’t realize that what they’re preaching is collective guilt. There are plenty of moderate feminists who believe men aren’t doing enough to protect women and are complicit to violence against the female population. There are plenty of moderate feminists who call for an education system that would treat young boys like potential rapists. There are plenty of moderate feminists who believe women should have the right to retire 5 years earlier than men, like they do in my country. Above all, there’s no moderate feminists who doesn’t believe in patriarchal theory. And in a world designed to benefit men at the expense of women, male suffering is not the norm, but an exception, unlike female suffering. Of course they won’t outright admit this last part, but it’s pretty much how they think. Your post is very, very insightful, though. Specially when you mention how they were never afraid to call out the TERFs or the white feminism, but tolerated the misandry.
