Is there anything I can do to help the people of Afghanistan?

Well I think it's sort of the same way we should think about the US, no? You can blame the people in charge of the whole thing but blaming the average joes is completely unfair.

And it's not like this is anything specific to Afghanistan either, that's just a fact of life. None of us can really be blamed in the long run anyway because everything is so stupidly subjective.

I mean the Taliban are the good guys from their point of view, and how am I supposed to convince them otherwise? It doesn't absolve them of their atrocities of course, but it makes it a hell of a lot harder to blame them. They were all raised in a culture that didn't allow them to be anything but what they are today -- nobody can be blamed for things they can't really control.

So we can wish things went different and we can be frustrated at the way things are, but at the end of the day all we can do is move forward and change things. How? That's the million dollar question is it not
