Ahh for some reason I am unable to scroll beyond a certain point to see if this has been mentioned, so sorry if I am echoing! But I think a lot of it has to do with the more tenured Housewives already having a bond formed with Erika. Erika and Sutton do not get along so they are taking Erika's side.

Due to Erika's problematic behavior, fans are loving Sutton. I also think this pisses off the cast (mainly Kyle and Rinna who have been around the longest.)

I will say (and I am a fan of Sutton!) that I don't think as many fans would hardcore love her the way they do if Erika wasn't so terrible. I think fans wanted to see the take down of Erika and would automatically "stan" whoever in the group chose to try and do that, and last season it happened to be Sutton who was asking all the questions.
