The Thing that Actually Aged the Worst in ME2?

There was one specifically with Ash where she was joking with Shepard about if he gave her orders to kiss 'X' (X being whatever it was cause I don't remember) and the romance response option was something like 'well what if I ordered you to kiss me'. Big oof. I just paused and thought... in a normal flow of conversation that's definitely like what a weird guy thinks a girl would think is flirty rather than actually being flirty.

I think this is slightly less icky when you consider:

  • Everyone in Mass Effect is implied or actually extremely good-looking. In that, y'know, default Shep is an actual male model.

  • Even prior to that conversation you CAN have an Ashley that is at least being slightly flirty. It might even be around when you walk in on the call with Ashley's sister saying that Shep is cute.

I'm not saying good looking people can't be creepy. But it'd be disingenuous to ignore that something a good looking person does is less likely to be PERCEIVED as creepy. And of course, it might even be welcome.

People just have to be realistic about their attractiveness!
