Thoughts?

I'm no fan of Musk, and I honestly hope his world collapses and competent leadership takes his place at Tesla (this has already happened at SpaceX; COO Gwynne Shotwell is the decision maker now).

That said, this tweet is pure unadulterated bullshit.

Starship cleared the pad and continued to fly until reaching nearly Mach 2. It held together while tumbling through the upper atmosphere at supersonic speeds before the automated flight termination system kicked in.

Booster 7 and ship 24 were both outdated designs and SpaceX had no intention of recovering either vehicle. The goal of the inaugural integrated test flight was to gather flight data on off-nominal events to help improve future iterations - and by that metric, the flight was a resounding success. Remember how many Falcon 9 boosters they had to blow up to stick the first landing? This is no different.

Just because we dislike Elon doesn't give us the right to discredit the legions of highly qualified engineers and technicians who worked so hard to get the Starship program to where it's at.
