Could you please explain

Population collapse? Lol buddy, we have 8 billion people. Only way that happens is if there’s a catastrophic meteor strike or all out nuclear war.

Should it really be a goal to increase the global population at all costs? Half the world lives on $7/day or less. 1/4 of it is moderately or severely food insecure. We’re extracting resources in an unsustainable manner, and even then a good chunk of the world lives precariously without even the basics.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that inequality and overconsumption by rich nations doesn’t play a role here. But even if resources were more equitably distributed, I still find it hard to believe that everyone could live as well as even lower-middle class Americans and Europeans do today.

Maybe existence isn’t the end all be all and quality of life matters? Maybe parts of the world are vastly overpopulated and can fill the void in places where the population is declining? I dunno man, it seems like peak human hubris to believe that humans don’t have a carrying capacity. Literally every other species does. Just because we’re more technologically advanced doesn’t mean we can outrun the realities of nature forever.

What’s even more maddening is that he’s all for explosive population growth while still wanting to hoard wealth and live his palatial, jet setting lifestyle. If you want to encourage people to have kids in the first place or have more kids, maybe doing paying your taxes and helping society improve in a meaningful way would be a good way to go about it.
