Some see healthcare as a basic human right. Like every other first-world country on the planet, and they manage to do fine. Actually, we’re the only country that is now seeing a decline in life expectancy, and the #1 cause for bankruptcy is healthcare costs.

I guess some people would rather pay $10,000/year for insurance, then pay a high deductible on top of that, then pay out of pocket, and soon (if Republicans get their way) risk not being able to get insurance due to preexisting conditions, meaning you’re on the hook for $200,000 if you have a heart attack - all of this over paying half of just the annual insurance cost (we are also the most expensive) in taxes, but never having to worry about any of this shit.
