Is it transphobic to distinguish between transwomen/transmen and women/men? Which is more true: transwomen are women; or transwomen are transwomen and women are women? Is the latter part transphobic to say?

Biological features which are?

Candidly I just think this is an odd hill when gender is a spectrum and we are sticking to using binary terms to try and encapsulate that full spectrum. I think there are “hard” bounds to that spectrum which are the two male/female genders assigned at birth filled with everything in between.

Rather than force individuals to fit within that binary system there should be more categories that reflect sections of that spectrum. So trans women would be one category, independent from cis women, and same thing for men, with non-binary & intersex in the middle.

I don’t think defining trans women as women is accurate, as they are different.

All of this is said with no judgement or criticism or ill will towards anyone across this gender spectrum.
