What policy you think is good in theory, but doesn't always work in practice?

I'm with you on the college tuition thing.

It used to be there was strict criteria to qualify for a student loan, and there was a limit as to the amount of it you could take. That meant that colleges had to have lower prices because people either had to pay for it themselves or hope they got a loan and could get in.

But someone eventually decided that anyone should be able to apply for a student loan and there should be no cap on how much you take out. That meant that colleges could raise their prices as much as they wanted, and they were guaranteed to get paid because of the loans.

As much as I'm opposed to government increasing its power, I think college is an area where the government needs to step in.
