Oh my... Obligatory "not the truck driver, but..." my wife gets a phone call from her bestie... let's call her Alicia. Alicia is frantic! She comes from a small-town farm family, so all of her siblings, cousins, etc. basically grew up in the same family farm and were very close. Alicia's now-adult cousin, married to another friend of theirs, is a truck driver when he isn't farming. He's coming home from somewhere, driving on a 4-lane highway, about 1:00 a.m., when he comes up on a Ford Explorer on the side of the road. No lights on, so he was pretty close when he made out that there was a vehicle stopped. He was mid-lane change, to give room when one of the occupants of the Explorer runs right out in front of him.

Long story short, Explorer guy gets painted all down the highway, cousin stops to see WTF just happened, realizes it's a human, not a deer, and goes into shock upon seeing the carnage. Meanwhile, Explorer guys GF runs up screaming. They had been fighting, and he apparently told her that he was going to kill himself if she left him. He made good on the promise, and Alicia's cousin is severely traumatized and now suffers PTSD.
