Two guys read people a couple of gruesome verses from the Quran... they're actually from the Bible.

I don't want to give a theology lesson on Christianity and its ties with Judaism.

Short Answer on why most of these Verses either A. Dont Apply to Christians at all or B. Are Allegorical.

Old testament a.k.a (Torah the Jewish holy book) was the revealed thru man as the word of God towards the Jews of the day or B.C times when Jews were in Egyptian captivity and afterwards. Most of it is stories, Jewish Psalms and proverbs and really detailed laws and punishments and here is the stinger (The punishments and gruesome details in the old testament were for Jews, Because God wanted to prove to mankind that we cant live by the standards God has set before us).

Now why would God want to be so cruel towards humanity and set all these unfair rules and punishments for trespassers. As stated before he wanted to prove humanity that it is impossible to live holy and righteous enough for his standards and damnation is the punishment for those who go against God and live outside of his commandments.

New Testament, The books that the Christians mostly live by, Jesus comes down to teach man and sacrifice himself so the average person will not have to be eternally damned for their sins. Most of the New Testament is Prophecy (Things that will happen in the future), Teachings of Jesus (Sermons, parables etc.), and instructions on how to live for God and have external life (Go to heaven). The latter accounts for the bulk of the new testament as Paul wrote 13 books as an instruction manual of how to be a Christian.

We as Christians don't live by old testament ways, customs and laws because we are gentiles, not Jewish and the law was fulfilled by Jesus when he was sacrificed.

TL;DR Most examples used in the video (Old Testament) don't apply to Christians. Detailed explanation above....

Find it funny how PC Culture rushes to the defense of Islam, but finds any excuse to blast Christianity.
