/u/krautcop, a German police officer, explains why American police officers use deadly force more often than their european colleagues. According to Wikipedia, only 7 people were killed by German Polizei in 2014.

I'm just wondering, did he take into account that our country is the size of Europe which also accounts for why we have very high crime stats?

Our country isn't "shoot from the hip" like he's implying. If you seriously believe this, I'm ashamed you're even American. Those who feel "safer" in Germany should go move there. America is safe as fuck is 99% of the areas you'll go, and I have a very large reason to doubt people popularly think, "Fuck em" if they commit a crime.

There's more Democrats than there are Republicans. Why is that significant? Because that's the sympathetic party towards criminals and they offer for shorter terms in punishment. If you're going to sit here and tell me they're not when the current candidate and the president both support shorter terms for prisoners, then can I get an invite to the lala land you're living in?

I'm sorry, but he's a German police officer and doesn't have a clue what it's like serving as an officer in most places in America. My friends and family are involved in the police force, and I can say with absolute certainty they're not violent or more likely to shoot than the German guy does.

It's not him explaining why, it's him explaining his opinion why. And he's perfectly entitled to it, but to accept it as fact as some of you are doing here is absurd as there are multiple sides to every story.
