U of Manitoba ordered to pay $286K to Steve Kirby, former music prof accused of sexual misconduct

There was no evidence cited that he was guilty of sexual harassment. There were complaints made by several students and a stayed charged most likely because the police were trying to gather more evidence. However, like the Ghomeshi case, that does not mean the complaints were substantiated or real. The fact that the judge was going to make the university offer his job back makes it pretty clear the complaints were baseless and that he was the victim of a witch hunt the cost him 2 jobs. People that are accused of such heinous crimes need to be properly vetted by the justice system, and are innocent until proven guilty. University kangaroo courts are often miscarriages of justice. Now the university has to pay for allowing the witch hunt to wreck this man's career.
