You are forgetting something. That functionality you want might come later, but content blocking apps nail the fundamentals a lot better than ublock origin ever did.

You end up with a faster web and better battery life. Using the back" gesture now means safari doesn't reload (it did with ublock origin). The apps don't come with redundant functionality (whitelist, popup blocker, etc.).

It will be better. You will get new and better apps as well. Also, being an app like Wipr means that it isn't limited like the extension, and as such it can use many many lists with the same content blocking API.
