The Ukrainian military claims that the guidance systems and electronics recovered from Russian Kh-101 air-launched cruise missiles used in Ukraine were developed in the 1960-1970s.

During the cold war there was a rare meeting between some American fighter pilots and some Soviet Mig pilots at an air show. They were talking shop. The Americans were boasting about their state of the art electronics, and roasting the Soviet pilots for the 1960s era electronics their 'advanced' Migs still used.

The Soviet pilots nodded but then pointed out that their electronic aviation systems, using these older components, were much more hardened against EMP than the American fighters were, and in the event of nearby nuclear detonations the Migs would keep flying while the American fighters with their fancy avionics would be knocked out.
