UMN fees for student newspaper, cultural groups are illegal, students say in lawsuit

Dude. I grew up in the ghetto. I grew up on the East side of Saint Paul. I lived down the street from a cul de sac that had a few apartments where lots of kids lived. I would go down there and play, and their were several kids that would beat me up/etc just because I was white.

Guess what? Their were several parents that ended up finding out what was happening after a particular incident. Literally, a group of 10+ parents came down to my house to apologize for their kid’s actions. It was a beautiful thing. Obviously, the parents weren’t teaching there kids to be racists(at least not directly) and I wish more people would go through similar experiences in life. Rational people know it’s a class issue in society. Sure, there’s some racist institutions but there’s ALOT more societal issues affecting poorer communities solely based on class.
