Additional thoughts on Last of Us 2 ending:

>!Ellie letting Abby go shows that she has actually forgiven Joel for what he did at the Firefly hospital. She wouldn't have fought for him like that if she hadn't, she just didn't come to terms with it. I think she realised that a lot of her excessive resentment for Abby was taking Joel away too early for her to actually deal with it naturally with him. In addition it suggests she's taking her promise to Joel further and trying to forgive Abby.

The choice of letting Abby live also contrasts Joel's choice in the end of the first game. He couldn't overcome any of his guilt or trauma and did the short sighted quickfire solution to try and ease his pain. This had terrible consequences which Ellie bore the brunt of and she didn't want a similar situation for Lev had she killed Abby. "Just get him out of here" were her last words to Abby.

It's just so damn good. But it must be 0/10 because I didn't get to kill muscle woman!<
