Unjerk Thread: The Witcher 3

As a RPG fan, I loved Witcher 3

I played it on Death March, which unlike popular opinion was pretty easy. (Died exactly 3 times, 2 of them being the final boss).

The story was enjoyable, I liked the various enemy types. Foglets blending in with the fog, water have merging with the water, ghosts, draconoid, fighting them was enjoyable. The combat has been at times criticized, rightfully, because its mash quick attack button and roll is enough to get you through the game. But I liked the combat. There is no lack of posts why it is enjoyable but I would like to mention a few things which were negative about the game

  • The levelling system: The game loses much of its challenge by how easily people can level up simply by doing main missions. Go out for some exploration, and your enemies become severely underpowered. After level 22, I went on this long chain of main missions back to back (because open world becomes unavailable for a short time) which made my level go up to a whooping 32. This made the entire game lose much of its challenge after.

  • Side missions: Except from some early side missions and missions related to main characters most became a tedious fetch quest. Witcher contracts got repetitive and boring (becauee of being overpowered) quickly.

  • Romance 'option': This even the fandom would agree that Tried was just there as an option as the devs wanted an option. After the entire romance 'scene' Tried almost forgets about Geralt. Even when there is this "ultimate battle" where Geralt could possibly die, Triss does not even acknowledge his presence. This is patched now, but previously it was hilarious.

  • The 2nd half: The entire 2nd half or act three seems rushed. It's hard to explain why, though
