This Gobblers Board game was purchased for my seven years sons birthday.   We have played it before and will do so again. It's better than you think for strategizing moves and trying to trick your opponent into making a bad one. The games are quick, unless you want to sit there thinking for hours, and simple to play.

  If you don't "get it" from the description, you have three pawn sizes to choose from.  

They can each swallow one or two pawn sizes, with the exception of the smallest. You can use any of them at any time, and you can even move them around once they're on the board.  

Making it impossible for the other player to stop you from making a line of them or swallowing up one of your pawns to block that line is crucial to winning.

  So you may appear to be winning, but If your opponent has one more of the largest pawns, you may lose. It all comes down to how well you plan ahead of time and choose your pawn sizes.
