Has upgrading your studio acoustics improved your workflow?

I think having multiple sets of monitoring headphones with at least one set you know really well is better than anything other than a purpose built room. Ideally a set of closed backs as well as open backs.

People claim they can mix well once they “know their room” but they’re still just guessing. There’s room correction software like ARC by IK multimedia that can help but it’s kind of annoying to use and I had mixed results.

There’s a LOT to setting up a room properly but the majority of people giving studio or music production advice on Reddit have their monitors 8 feet apart with one stuffed in a corner behind a wall of gear they rarely use.

TLDR; No, just use good headphones.
