I used to love this subreddit years ago... what happened?

I believe climate change is happening and needs efforts to mitigate on all four points, but I would add one point; over-reacting to climate change causing mass-starvation and resource gaps necessary for human survival. For instance, with multiple states suggesting they want to ban all gasoline vehicles by 2035, is this a realistic goal at the current rate of scaling the production of renewable technologies? Wholesale reductions to nitrogen use in farming without understanding the long term socio-economic impacts. The potential exists for many many people to die of starvation/malnutrition as a result, so we better be sure we get it right, and I fear knowing the track record of ineptness of government bureaucracy that we won’t get it right.
