They view Christianity as the dominant WASP culture and want to break that and virtue signal via shaming every aspect of it they can. One way they've done that is to inject racism as a factor, inferring orders of magnitude beyond what actually exist so when white Christians speak out against the perceived dangers of Islam it MUST BE simply because they can't stand "those brown people." Since Muslims are an extremely small minority population (despite being overwhelmingly conservative and often against core democratic values) they want to show how 'caring' and 'non-racist' they are by being blatantly racist. They have to claim to stand up for the "oppressed and marginalized" after all. I'll give you 10-1 odds on whether they'll actually show up when a good Muslim is in need though. They might toss a few dollars toward a charity though so they can feel good! In reality American Muslims are far more conservative in many respects and are laughing at them (at least those I know personally are) and have very little in common with the extremists they came here to escape.
