Finally Friday!

One of my kindergarten students cannot keep his hands to himself. We have tried everything. Positive reinforcement proactive behaviour, rewards. As soon myself or the EAs are distracted (which is often because we have a really high needs class) he goes after kids. Sometimes it’s playful and sometimes he specifically pokes at reactive kids to start a fight.

Yesterday he grabbed a boy, spun him around and threw him so hard on the ground we though he was concussed. The boy couldn’t really walk after. I sent both to the office to get checked for concussion and the I wanted him to understand how serious it was.

Principle requested from now on he stays with adult at all times as though that is realistic. We went outside and the second I was calling clean up and trying to get all the kids together he walked up with a shovel full of snow and threw it into another child’s face. He truly just doesn’t care.

I don’t know what to do. He’s not diagnosed with anything it just seems to be a choice.
