[Vent] Is anyone else struggling with gender norms?

I feel the same way. Before we knew what we were having, I was buying all gender neutral things. You know, blues, greys, greens, reds, yellows, patterns like stripes, dinosaurs, "I love mommy", stuff like that.

Well it turns out we're having a boy. And I'm so excited, because I'm more of a tomboy and I feel like a boy will ease me into a baby (I say naively). But I'm struggling with the opposite issue: what can I do to raise a boy who isn't a "stereotypical" boy? I feel like there's no real equivalent to dressing a girl in dinosaur onesies, because dressing a boy in a pink onesie (especially because I hate pinks/purples) or a dress wouldn't work out so well.

There's the typical "my son will see mommy and daddy not playing the typical gender roles" and he'll get comfortable with being a nice person to everyone, not a stereotypical "chivalrous gentleman".

I'm also worried when and if we have a #2, if it ends up being a girl, her wearing dino clothes and the blues greens and greys will be "oh she's just wearing her brothers' hand me downs" and it will be more "acceptable" because of that, because there's a REASON for it beyond it's OK for a girl to wear trucks and dinosaurs (I say as I'm sitting here wearing a pokemon shirt).
