Also let me add some stuff man. Lots of us are going through the same shit you are. It is absolutely not impossible. There are some crazy success stories even on this subreddit from folks like you and me with a record.

You wanna know why besides background checks they say a record fucks you? Think about most of the people you did time with either in jail or prison. Do you think these people had an actual chance at gainful employment once they were out? Probably not, right? Tattoos on their face, hardcore drug problems, records a mile long, no job experience, barely any ability with technology, etc.

I'm not saying we're better than they are, but I'm saying the fact that you are here right now even asking this question means you've got some critical thinking skills, you can do research, you have the technical ability to find this subreddit and know how to use english properly.

That probably puts you up above a large percentage of folks with records that will probably continue to be in and out of the system for the rest of their lives.

Stop worrying about shit and just go out there and try for jobs. Who knows what you'll get? Use the "I want to get laid approach" with jobs and just try out every single avenue until you land one. That's how life is going to work until you work on a college education or other skills to form your own business or meet someone who will give you a chance at a big company.
