The Walking Dead Guy

I apologize in advance. I see a lot of these "Why didn't you call police/CPS/etc" comments on this sub but am replying to yours.

First off, just having narcolepsy doesn't instantly disqualify one from driving. Often a doctor will have a say in it. If the guy can legally drive, I'm assuming something went wrong for him that day that normally doesn't happen. Use teh Googles.

As for calling the police, and that's the main reason I'm commenting, why do people want to take that risk for such minor things? Think back to recent events in the news when people called police about that guy in the Walmart buying a BB gun, or the kid in Cleveland with another toy guy in a park. In both of those cases a 'concerned citizen' called the police and the police responded by immediately arriving and executing law abiding people minding their own business. How do you think those concerned citizens feel now knowing their actions got someone executed?

Sure some cops aren't all that bad and the incidents I'm referencing are more rare, but we read about police killing people every day. I don't see who would want to to call them for something minor when there's not much the cop could do in the first place. Most likely if in the OP's scenario nothing bad would have happened if the police were called, but just what if the 911 operator misunderstood what was being called in and dispatched the police to a truck stop for a 'crazy guy trying to blow up a gas pump'. Then when the police arrive the guy is still looking for his wallet and fumbling around in his pockets and some jump cop shoots him 3 times in the chest because he feared for his life for him reaching in his pockets. How would you feel then? Would you feel like you did the right thing?

I see so many comments on this sub with people saying the OP should have called the police. In many of them I'm glad the OP did not call the police.

And again, sorry, I'm not meaning to lash out at you specifically. The call the police or call CPS thing just seems to becoming a common knee jerk reaction from a lot of commentators here. Moral of the story: Mind your own business is often a very reasonable thing to do.
