Wanting to change jobs (and then going on paternity leave) a few weeks before the baby is born?

Damn go for the better job, why would you go on leave when your wife will be at home already? I saw my baby everyday since she was born and I’ve worked the whole time, I was there for delivery and stayed a couple nights then it was back to work to provide for my family. I took a job where I was worked like a slave and treated like shit but I had a baby on the way and it paid way better than my job at the time, mandatory overtime 60 hour work weeks but you do what you have to do. I’ve gotten a much better job since then but at the time i didn’t have many options and a child to provide for. Life’s not easy or convenient buddy, you have to what’s best long term for your child.
