My MOH confided in me and my fiancé recently that she had an abortion last summer. I was so PROUD of her for making such an incredibly difficult choice. She made that choice to protect her two-year-old daughter, whose father had not been pulling his weight in contributing to the household. She made that choice because she knew she wouldn’t be able to give 100% to her daughter while going through another pregnancy and childbirth (the first was traumatic and full of medical complications). She cried so hard and felt so alone during and after her abortion, and she still struggles emotionally with it, even though she knows it was the right decision for her and her daughter.

I cannot imagine calling my best friend a murderer or kicking her out of my wedding party for this. You think your MOH got an abortion for the fun of it? Just for kicks? You think she enjoyed terminating her pregnancy? Fuck off. If you don’t believe in abortion, don’t have one. But don’t you dare call it a murder. People are murdered every day in brutal ways, and an abortion is not comparable to murder at all.
