OT: and I do not want to belittle her achievements in any way but I think even the show, RHOP girls, and fans are confused. Is Wendy a tenured professor? In the reunion, Candice refers to Wendy as a tenured professor, but she's literally thinking of leaving academia, so that doesn't really make any sense. Other posts on here have said she is not tenured and is an associate professor (still a huge accomplishment many people in the same field never achieve) and that the reason this post believed her choice to leave academia was that she has not published since her dissertation and therefore has a much lower chance of gaining tenure than other professors as she focuses more on political commentary and schools like JH prefer a large output of publications. Another reason is JH likely doesn't want a Real Housewife as a tenured professor, an associate professor is much less associated directly with the university so there's less risk right now, but it definitely seems like a bit of a poor career move in the academia field. The weirdest thing about this that people will call her a tenured professor on the show like during the reunion and she will not correct them. She has been referred to as a tenured professor multiple times on the show, though I cannot remember a moment when she said it herself. I definitely think that it's a lot of the girls possibly not knowing what tenure means specifically or assuming she has it because she is so accomplished (because that happened to some of my friends in academia by their families because they assume they've been working hard and for a long enough time when it has very little to with how hard you work). I can understand not wanting to correct people about that too though. I assume its the avoiding the whole semantics and the "I'm an associate professor it means that I'm less than" joke we all know actually can "cut deep" if you're in academia or(ie reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B9oxe-Dvvj0)
