""We're (USA) not catching up with the rest of the World as long as Soccer's a sport for the upper class."

This is a pretty ridiculous comment:

There is no discrimination. You can be top footballer if you are tall, short, skinny, fat, poor, rich, slow, fast, smart, dumb... It's because it's not played with hands, so you can't fake talent. In football, true talent is noticeable more than in any other sport.

This is the same with any sport in the US. Even better, a fat dumb short white guy can be the best linebacker in the world. That's simply not true for a soccer player.

Not many sports can draw such a large crowd. 100.000 people to watch a game... Stadiums are big and cheaper to build than a hall.

American sports routinely draw crowds like that, just like soccer. Baseball draws 50,000+ people to 162 games a season per team, that's insane.

You don't need expensive equipment. You just need one ball - any ball.

This is true for soccer, but it is also true for basketball. Stickball is a common thing in the US, and American football is also routinely played without pads and with no tackling.

Football is not about big, tall, fast, roid-up guys that look like aliens.

Neither are American sports.. have you seen Prince Fielder or Ortiz? They are massive dudes who can barely play in the field. American football has a MUCH wider variety of positions than soccer as well, allowing for a much wider variety of people to succeed.

Football players are average looking guys, if you compare them to NBA or NFL players.

What on earth? This is so asininely subjective that I can't believe you thought this was a good point. Look up fucking Eli Manning and tell me he is a good looking guy.

This is obvious. Yes, there are some average guys playing there, but it is extremely rare.

Not really, you honestly have no idea what you're talking about here. Steve Nash is an average looking guy, almost all Baseball players are average looking guys. Hockey players are not because of the insane physical requirements for the sport, and Football has such a wide variety of positions that a statement like the one you just made is simply incorrect.

These points are not here to compare with other sports in USA. This is just another major reason why football is so popular. I realize that there are other sports played in large stadiums. I'm just saying that sports without large attendance can't compete.

Then what else are they for considering the context of the conversation?
