Can confirm horrible church pedo, my uncle, is horrible. I was a true believer when that shit went down. How the church valued/protected/shielded him over your sister was part of my waking up to "Oh shit, this SDA stuff is bullshit".

IMO the SDA Church's "pray away the mental illness, mental illness is cured by being vegan, you're not saved if you have depression" teachings directly caused the older lady's postpartum psychosis. Ignoring it worsened it. This went on for months or years. (I saw the baby's tombstone and kiddo was a toddler.)

Someone told me the church knew something was wrong with her and nobody did anything to help her. Finally she snapped and killed her kid. My understanding is the pastor of the church when this happened was obsessed with end-times torture-porn style sermons. Hearing and believing that stuff certainly contributed to her psychosis.

It says a lot that the church knew bad things were going on, and did nothing/tried to do nothing in both situations.
