What is a benefit of being ugly?

I can only speak to this topic from the perspective of someone who is good-looking... BUT before you go "oh no, poor handsome guy has is sooo hard boohoo", I just want to share some serious issues I have that I think ugly people do not suffer from and that I am envious of them for not suffering through.

First, there is pressure on good-looking people to always look good. Of course everyone wants to look their best, but for good-looking folk it can be super stressful if even the slightest bit of you is out of whack. It's like they're always trying to "hold on" to their looks, rather than being able to just look a certain way; as if they lose their value as a person as soon as even one little bit is off. To an ugly person, a bad haircut is just another problem to deal with; to a good-looking person, getting a bad haircut feels like a GIANT FUCKING DISASTER! Like they've lost one of the most important things to them.

Second, there's the inevitable fact that looks will always fade... ALWAYS. Youthful women age and sag, handsome men get fat and go bald. No matter how much we struggle to fight it, it's GOING to happen, and that inevitability FREAKS US RIGHT THE FUCK OUT! Every time we look in the mirror and see a bit more pudge added to the waist or a few more stretch marks forming on our thighs, it HURTS. Like watching yourself die.

Third, there's upkeep. Even a total butter-face can get some action if they're in decent shape, but staying in shape is a DAMNED HUGE COMMITMENT, one that you make for life (lest all that hard work go to waste). Same goes for women with makeup and anti-wrinkle cream and whatnot - the longer they enjoy the benefits of being good-looking, the more effort is required to stay that way. I wish I had the peace of mind to just let go of myself and eat a whole bag of Lays in one sitting, but it would undo everything I worked for.

Anywhoo, I suppose this is small consolation that ugly people don't need to worry about such things and would probably gladly take on these problems if it meant looking good, but I thought I'd throw in my 2 cents to contribute to the conversation from the perspective of "the other side".
