Just after new year this year I was in the house one afternoon with my older brother (who was sleeping at this time). I heard a knock at the door. Me being lazy I just expected it to be the postman with a parcel so just left it. Ten minutes later the door went again which I ignored again, roughly about 5 minutes after that I started hearing noises downstairs which was a bit suspicious but I thought it was the cats fighting or something. THEN I heard voices and I began to panic. I walked to the landing and my fucking god my hear stopped and I just froze..Two guys in hoods that looked to be in their 20s literally half way up the stairs with knifes and then there is me in my boxers and grizzly bear sliippers. It was such a surreal moment not knowing what was going to happen next until one of them shouted "shit shit run" and they both frantically bailed with one of them tripping over the baby gatelel, cowards. The next thing I did was rush through to my brothers room to wake him up shouting "wake up wake up we've been robbed!" he was completely oblivious of what had just happened until I phoned the police immediately. While on phone to the operator she asks have they left yet, I responding I don't know THEN she tells me to go downstairs(keeping in mind they had fucking knives) to check if they were still here, at that moment I was petrified but my brother who was in some sort of rage about the neds breaking in went down holding this stick like a sword while tip toeing about checking every corner, we were both scared shitless but thankfully they were gone.
The police ended up catching one of them apparently he got pinned down by one of their dogs. Also all they took was my dads car keys which was suppose to be their "getaway" car according to the police ha. After the whole incident I think my brother was really freaked out even after acting like a "big man" because I was suppose to be going through to Glasgow that day with the family (It's about an hour away) he would of been alone..SLEEPING!
So yeah..that was a definitely an experience we will never both forget.
