What ever happened to Gardai going around town on Segways? lol

Not in my position, no, but I own my property and "afford" plenty more than a black hole of rent. I just consider them saps if they're blowing that on rent just to live down in that shiny dump. If you're pulling in that kinda bread, you should be in a property of your own, and living a far better lifestyle in a way better neighbourhood. On that sort of wage-wise, you could have a stylish victorian pile in Portobello that you own, pay maybe €2500/mo on the mortgage, and after a year or two you'd have it renovated and increased it's value, as well as having way more freedom and scope to live than in an apartment. There are dramatically better culture and nightlife options out there (what's even in the Docklands, the Odeon, a few soulless banker hangouts, that bourgeois shopping arcade at George's dock nobody goes to). Just an opinion, but it's just not a smart use of money paying that to live down there. East Wall and Sherriff Street are still dog rough.
