What to expect when lying your way into a job?

If you have the skills and experience, fake the resume. I use a my own C2C LLC always as J1 where I control all payroll/W2 and reference/employment checks. My resume has that job tailored for whichever I’m applying for. References are a joke. Friends answer those but most of the time (unless I really want the J2-J5 gig) I tell them to pound sand. Make sure you are an expert at interviewing it is really the most important aspect. Once they want you they aren’t going to try and find a way to not start you. Don’t lie about degrees they verify usually. And if you can do what your resume states it’s not lying either. For example, you used PowerBI once but are proficient in another tool. The job you want uses PowerBI and you know you can pick it up quick. On your experience, say 5 years at J1, throw in PowerBI. Most places don’t care if you don’t have the exact tool they use if you have similar anyway. I’ve gotten many a J while not having one of the 2-3 primary tools. Sometimes I won’t even put that on resume. Interview well and you love to learn they eat that up! Anyway, a perk of OE is exposure to EVERYTHING ! You become a Jack of all tools (communication/IM, Tech, etc.).
