What flaw in a person drives you mad ?

Wanting / not wanting kids can be a old fashioned cultural expectation. We're not in danger of running out of humans anytime soon. There's no reason to have kids if you don't feel it's for you. People who would shame you for not wanting kids are generally horrible.

There are real reasons why a person would struggle with empathy. I don't really have a problem with people who try their best despite their problems to meet their fellow humans somewhere in the middle.

I'm thinking more of people who willfully deny people in need or crisis empathy to make themselves feel strong or to crush others.

I know that too can be a sign of a legitimate problem. But after a life of trauma I've come to the conclusion that I can't live without at least a modicum of empathy from the people close to me and if someone wants to ruin my life playing games with tough love crap I need to eject them from my life.

That being said, not having access to a full spectrum of emotions can be a symptom of many possible problems. Have you talked to a doctor?
