The acting sucks because it's Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's expressions and voice just with Will Smith's face plastered over it. If you want to think about it this way - it's like the program photoshops each frame of kareem's face to be will smith's instead but keeps the expression the same.

No where did anyone say or imply the acting was supposed to improve. It's literally just made to see Will Smith's face in the role for fun. Also as a side not stop using exclamations.
