Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't.

What disappoints people, I think, is that Trump is the POTUS and we expect him to act with a little bit of tact and dignity and he makes us all look like assholes because he flies off the handle constantly.

That's the problem with anyone doing anything. Trump is not a complete moron, he's just an asshole. He knows how to word things ambiguously enough where no one can absolutely use it as proof of anything other than him being an asshole. Which isn't something impeachment proceedings can be based upon.

When we can both make perfectly valid arguments, there's no basis on which to take action. To me, though, it's a hateful, spiteful comment he made. Whether it's inherently racist is up for debate, but it wasn't said with the intention to do anything but humiliate her into silence.
