What do you miss?

Meme culture is too self aware. Back then memes didn't have a formula, they just happened and that was more real and authentic. Memes feel too artificial now.

Memes in the old days have lasted till today, but new memes nowadays don't live on anymore, they die in a month and are completely forgotten, two at best.

Though dank memes are still pretty good, because we call em dank because their so funny and unique, they aren't your run of the mill trend.

I think it comes down to comedy. We get new memes and they start dank, but soon as the SAME joke is made continuously, they lose dankness and become memes, then dead memes.

Back then, memes could prosper into huge dank memes with creativity and new spins, but now the internet is too big and everyone makes the same jokes for upcoming memes killing them within a month.

Meme culture is too self aware and hungry. We need to chill and let good people make good memes and only upvote them because they made something funny, not because "lol dicks out for John cena"
