I also ran into a barbed wire fence! Except I was just a stupid kid instead of drunk (same amount of critical thinking skills pretty much lol). It was dark and I had snuck out with my friends at a sleep over. He lived out in the country so there weren’t any streetlight and a lot of open fields. Running with them across one of the fields, I ran in between two fence posts and hit the string of barbed wire between them at full speed with my face.

I didn’t even realize what had happened, thought I must have slipped while running and hit the ground so hard my nose was bleeding. When we snuck back into his house and I was under good lighting, I realized that was not the case.

My nose and cheek were sliced up but my right ear was actually hanging off my head. I also realized I couldn’t raise my left shoulder without severe pain. Apparently I shattered my collar bone on a rock when I fell (ig the sliced up face wasn’t bad enough). A shoulder brace,dozens of stitches, and a decade later and you can’t even tell unless I directly point out the scars!
