What is the most iconic year in your nation's history?

Not too sure on which one is the most iconic. We've tossed between the hands of so many different invaders, vikings, kings and religions over the centuries that nothing really stands out as the one sole most iconic moment. It also doesn't help that some of this is so old that alot of dates are just lost to history.

Some note worthy ones though :

- Somewhere in the 800's Vikings invaded and settled. Still have their structures like Peel castle dominating the landscape to this day.

- Somewhere in the 9th-10th century Tynwald was formed, Making it the oldest continuous parliament in the world. (Icelanders will hate reading this).

- After getting tossed between Norway and Scotland, We finally end up in English hands in the 1300's.

- 1765 we became a crown dependency of the English Monarch.

- 1881 we were the first (in the world?) to give single women the right to vote.
