What positive aspects of the US are not sufficiently reflected in the pop culture?

I live in the southern part of Louisiana (Lafayette). They portray us as backwoods, living in swamps, as if none of our roads are paved except in New Orleans. The swamps aren't far away from me, 20 minute drive, in fact, but what is under-represented for Louisiana are non-swampy places in the middle of the state.

Listen, Hollywood, almost all of our roads and streets are paved, we don't all live in the swamp, and here is somewhat of a real example of the Cajun accent (even though this is a parody of Billy Mays -- it's how Cajuns talk, especially saying me after referring to yourself already, saying yeah or no at the end of a sentence, using 'mais', which means but in French, but we use it as an answer to questions or other things, and we often use it as "mais yeah", and using bah, in place of boy).

"Man, I wen dahn tuh duh sto, me, and guess who I saw? I saw T-Joe."

"Who?"

"Ya brudda T."

"Come on?" (said like the French word 'comment')

"Mais yeah. He was gettin' 8 links of boudin, cher. I said, I can't eat dat much, no."
