What’s the deal with Hellman Park Trailhead?

Every year we vacation in our hometown of Whittier. We get to be with family and visit all our old hangouts. Afterward, we head out to wherever life takes us before it's back home again. After last year's experience with the way, the City of Whittier was handling the BLM/COVID situation we're taking a hard pass and may not be back to Whittier until they get their shit together. Buildings boarded up, parks and public places closed, restaurants closed because the Rona might get ya. It was heartbreaking. Even people were understandably rude, I would be too if I had to live under those conditions. It doesn't surprise me that the parks are still closed, LA County and the City of Whittier stopped giving a fuck last year.

Over a year has passed and we now have family moving to our state from Whittier, they didn't want to leave bur economically, academically, and socially they forced out. They sold their place on Painter on now bought two places and rental property. No more mortgage and fewer taxes.

Even the family we would rent the AirBnB in Whittier packed up and moved out of state. Looked them up on Facebook and they're in Utah!

I pray you guys get it together. We love Whittier, but my wife (1991 Cal High Grad) said to me, "it feels like Whittier doesn't love us".

Good luck, I pulling for you guys. I'm keeping tabs through social media and r/Whittier and when things get back to normal I promise you, we'll be back.
