What’s one of America’s most dangerous jobs? It’s not what you think.

Good grief. We had that happen to a nurse. She went in to talk to a patient in the far bed and the patient from the first bed quietly rose up and attacked her from behind. Started choking her hard and she couldn't yell for help. She was lucky a tech happened to stroll by doing rounds. She was sent out immediately to be checked out and given time off and a little counselling.

I have way too many stories of these types of situations. Thank God we had fantastic staff who never hesitated to run, jump in and save each other's ass (except you, Ryan, you wimpy, cowardly fuck). It can be a dangerous job, and you go in knowing that, and we all have to look out for each other.

I never wore my hair down. Ever. I always cringed when I saw our female staff wearing their hair down and wearing stupid clothing that was, essentially, like giving a violent patient a weapon. I don't care if you work in the Eating Disorders Unit and "nothing ever happens there"... bullshit. You're a fool if you think long hair, a scarf and heels are a good idea. I don't know why it was tolerated.
