I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again and I’ll stick by it. Made In Timeland is top tier Gizz.

While it’s often written off as “just intermission music” the amount of depth and interesting explorations on the album make this framing incredibly disingenuous. The band created what is and what will most likely be the most unique sounding album in their discography and then paired it with a genius concept of using seconds as the basis for polyrhythms and things reminiscent of Polygondwanaland. What’s even crazier is that for as out there as Made In Timeland is, it’s not inaccessible. The only thing that I think soiled it is the marketing and release, which ranged from unfortunate to obtuse.
