The rumors on this sub are getting out of control in my opinion, especially with what’s been happening with the first few albums on streaming platforms recently. I’m Fantano’s recent interview with Stu, Stu said that Gizz has an “Open door” policy, which means members can work on side projects and dedicate as much or as little time as they want to gizzard albums. He also said that they view Gizz as a job they love, so based on those comments plus the sweet send off they publicly gave Eric I don’t see any reason for there to have been any bad blood these past few years. I could see them not being as close of friends since 6 of them are touring the world while he’s in Australia, but I wouldn’t expect any of them to act so unprofessional as to intentionally harm him or Flightless. There are very healthy ways for bands to split from labels, and there’s no sign that this isn’t one of them.

Plus Flightless is a small record label, Gizz, Murlocs, Amyl, etc. leaving probably isn’t because of bad blood or Eric, they just got too big and Flightless probably didn’t have the resources to support them (Example: gizz wants to release 5 records on vinyl with 15 different variants and then do a world tour, Flightless wouldn’t have the financial resources or pressing capability to support that + all the other big artists they have if they all want the same release window or similar touring schedules) this way Eric can keep signing smaller Australian bands and us Gizz/Murlocs/past flightless artist fans can receive their music/see them live more frequently.

I feel bad if Eric saw all of this, he helped start and make multiple incredible albums for Gizz, manages flightless and helped artists this sub loves gain traction, and even fills in for drumming when needed for some bands, he seems like a great guy who’s putting his all into his life passion, which is Flightless now, we owe it to him to let him move on.

TLDR: Gizz/Gizzard members personal accounts still follow all flightless accounts, please let the boys live and stop digging for drama where there is none.
