I remember one "vacation" as a kid that wasn't centered around camping and hiking in a nearby state.

I dated a woman in law school for a while who's parents paid for a trip to Disney World/Universal Studios. I couldn't thank them enough and they were like, "Its nothing... seriously." A few months later her mom floated the idea of paying for me to fly to Paris and London to travel with my GF.

I kindly turned her down though. I got the feeling that she was just tossing money at her daughter to make her happy and I was supposed to just go along with their fucked up relationship centered around manipulation and money.

A free, most-expenses-paid trip to two of the most expensive cities in Europe would have been awesome. But nah... I knew better by then. I'm okay having a SO who is the bread winner. But I'm not okay having their mother toss money at me like a performing monkey to keep her daughter happy while I hear the crazy manipulative shit she does at the same time.
