What is the weirdest part of your world?

The royal family are a species of alien which have been wedding a single brother and sister while killing off any extras (though usually no extras are born) as one as the family can remember. One night the little sister of the current ruling king and queen unwittingly frees the spirit of time which was trapped in a crystal prison hidden behind the old grand father clock. Her parents are killed and her brother gives himself up to allow her to escape though he drops the rope and believes he killed her. The brother ends up being possessed by the demon and their souls merge. This leaves the demon trapped and a part of the brother who becomes king- through a mixture of the demons new fear of mortality and the brothers fear of the extinction of his species the new emperor is known as deranged for going to any length to obtain immortality (though he ultimately fails) even slaughtering an entire planet of an innocent species in order to try to harness the power of their immortality stone (which is useless anyway). His sister, now an amnesiac joins a rebellion against him.
