Firstly, Anyone who has done a bit of research can find out some simple facts. Currently, in Oz, the rollout of the vaccine will go into 5 groups, mostly it’s the too 700k, then it’s mostly an even split from highest rise to second highest, to general population/adults to under 16’s and this will roll out in 200-600k per week with target of all but the children by October but by mid June-July we should pretty much stop having issues with travellers, maybe even by late March-April but Australis is already pretty much the best country to live in (except for New Zealand and Vietnam but I’d rather live here and then there a few dozen third world countries and a few I haven’t done too much research on)…
So vaccine is coming, things are great, better than the rest but people are still pretty messed up.
HCQ has already been extensively researched. Yeah, nah.. it’s not effective and anyone who wants to use it is a crackpot.
So why is it preferred? There are several factors. First, just like all the spelling mistakes in scam emails. It’s an obvious fake. It detours any remotely intelligent people, so the extremely stupid/manipulatable are pretty much announcing themselves to be victims. Trust me, these scammers are making money and a ton of it. Second, Trumpists need to be funnelled towards some scam and or another, this is a continuation of the post Trump era. As the vaccine comes out, their attention to be anti vaccer, anti 5G et al needs to pushed towards something, trust me they are cycling through various bullshit and the crazier and more backlash and more media attention it gets, the more it will gather momentum. Which is the third major element - media - it’s all about creating news, drumming up hype, drama, attention and the mainstream media loves morons more than real news or intelligent conversations… there is a maniac standing right behind you!!!! It’s not true but people love the thrill. It’s the same of social media. A chunk of my family are anti Bill gates, vaccines, 5G, thinks they are trying to kill off old people or to stop us using cash etc… it’s all cause it’s creating an “external locus of control”, it’s all “them” out to get us, it’s not that I am fat, lazy, don’t take care of myself and spend my days getting wasted every day… it’s x y or z that is controlling me. And now that things are messed up, this has been ramped up more than ever before, especially when people can’t work or attend church, they got into a social media self confirmation information bias… it’s all fucked up and I am just riffing a list of elements but these and much more… people are just fucked up and this HCQ is just a convenient conduit.. it had nothing to do with it specifically, it’s just for all that it can represent.
Happy to consider other specific factors, ie how Trump and others may be pumping advertisements into social media or the spread of fake news by hackers, other countries etc but I think just seeing that HCQ is a crackpot idea being used to fulfil other points is the point lol
